The Tamar is a very sturdy cabin constructed from
45mm thick walls with
19mm thick interlocking log floor timbers and 19mm thick roof timbers. Its great design gives you a canopy over the double doors whilst minimising the floor area needed for this, the result is a Log Cabin with a canopy that uses less floor space and maximises room. On the inside this is a truly large Log Cabin with plenty of space for a variety of uses. You could install a sauna or a Jacuzzi inside and have plenty of room for changing, or perhaps you need a large garden office, home gym or games room. It would also make a fantastic workshop or hobby room, whatever your requirements the Tamar should accommodate them. Double doors and three single windows come as standard to let a lot of natural light into the cabin and ease of access when moving items into and out of the cabin.
Convenience Features:- approx. 2040mm (6’7”) High internal eaves, giving more interior space. This is the lowest point inside so you’re unlikely to hit your head on the ceiling unless you’re taller than 6’7”.
- Double Door, this gives ease of access to the Cabin when moving items into and out of it and also allows more fresh air into the cabin during summer months if desired.
- Three windows for added ventilation.
- 1000mm (3’3”) (approx.) canopy over double doors, which offers some protection from rain.
Construction Features:- 45mm Thick double tongue and grooved walls featuring bevelled notches for ease of assembly and a better seal when compared to straight cut notches.
- 19mm Thick tongue and grooved flooring to prevent bounce in the floor when walking upon it.
- 19mm Thick tongue and grooved roof timbers for a sturdy roof.
- Large 70mm x 70mm Pressure treated floor bearers to prevent fungal decay and damage by insects. The bearers sit underneath the whole of the cabin so that everything in contact with the foundation is pressure treated, unlike some other suppliers cabins.
- Heavy duty 140mm x 45mm Roof beams to prevent ‘sagging’, pre-notched to slot onto apexes.
- Pre-assembled, pre-notched apexes for side walls.
- Top wall sections for front and back walls are cut to the angle of the roof to aid the nailing down of the roof boards.
- Storm protection beams are provided to secure the top wall section to the lower sections of the wall.
- All wood is planed, pre-cut (with the exception of trims), pre-notched pine or spruce to ensure a rapid and easy assembly.
- Windows and single doors are pre-hung and pre-assembled to simply slot into place.
- Double doors are provided as 6 assembled pieces that slot together then slot into place.
- Doors may be positioned to the left or right. Assembly instructions are for doors left or right. To put doors on left requires re-notching of the eave beam to suit this configuration.
Optional Features:- Additional windows and doors are available.
- Add a veranda to create some space to relax outside the front of your log cabin.
Note: The Log Cabin will be delivered on a flat bed van and you will need to unload it by hand, the driver will assist with this. The cabin is made from kiln dried timber and must be covered if it is to be stored outside prior to construction and treatment. This is to prevent moisture/rain from warping and rotting the timber, unless you plan to store the cabin inside, you will need tarpaulins or similar to provide cover for the wood. Doors may be placed left or right opening. Assembly instructions are for doors left or right. To put doors on left requires re-notching of the eave beam to suit this configuration.
Note: Roofing Shingles are available at extra cost.
There are two larger sized two roomed versions of the Tamar Log Cabin available, the Tamar Grande and the Tamar SuperGrande.
